Jim Busch, the senior partner in the firm, has counseled and served clients in the
construction and real estate industries for nearly 20 years, helping them prevent
and resolve disputes. He has represented construction suppliers, subcontractors,
equipment rental companies, engineers and architects, as well as trade associations,
developers and lenders. Clients range from local family held businesses to Fortune
500 companies.
Cases have dealt with breach of contract, materialmen's liens, real estate disputes,
debt collection, title insurance, and general business litigation. Jim has appeared
in state and federal courts throughout Georgia, as well as represented clients in
arbitrations. In addition to dispute resolution and litigation, Jim has experience
in corporate law, contracts and franchising, and has negotiated agreements relating
to office building sales and acquisitions, and shopping center development.
Jim is a regular speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars on construction
law and liens, and has published more than 40 articles on laws affecting the construction
industry. He has also served as a Committee Chair on a Senate Lien Law Advisory Committee, working with senators to help draft new legislation relating
to construction liens, bonds and waivers.
Jim has achieved monumental feats in his personal life, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro
and completing the Ironman, and he applies that same winning mentality and level
of dedication, determination and drive to representing his clients.
